Actress Jasmine Guy Stars in Film about Missing & Exploited Children at BronzeLens Film Festival

By: T.MORRISON AGENCY Staff

"What About Us?" a movie directed by Sundance award-winning producer Deatra L. Harris, explores the disparities of media coverage and resources certain families receive when their loved ones go missing.  The film which stars actor-dancer-director, Jasmine Guy will debut Friday, November 9th at the 3rd Annual BronzeLens Film Festival hosted at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis that will feature nearly 50 new films - new features, shorts, and documentary films from filmmakers across the country, the Caribbean, and Africa.

In "What About Us?" Guy portrays a troubled woman whose issues are not immediately apparent until the culmination of events at the end of the film.  The film is emotional, provocative and will certainly resonate with anyone who has been affected by a missing loved one.

Visigoth Pictures partnered with Peas in their Pods, a local non-profit organization that supports families with missing children here in Atlanta.  The film used an Indiegogo campaign to raise funds and awareness for not only the production of the film, but to also help support their community partner.   Visigoth also found a way to further give back to the Atlanta community by having 16-year-old Atlanta based singer/songwriter Lyric Rachae' perform the title track to the film which was produced by Atlanta's own State of Mind Muzic.  In addition, they brought in 20 Dunwoody High School students to intern on set during production.

Media interested in interviews with Ms. Jasmine Guy or producers of the film should contact T.MORRISON AGENCY directly.  Media credentials and coverage for BronzeLens should be directed to Terri Vismale-Morris, Director of Public Relations(404) 346-0410 newideas@bellsouth.net.

Jayda "Divva" Cabbell Launches Mission of Love Road Trip Showcasing Random Acts of Kindness

“Divva on a Mission” is a cross country mission road trip of love, hope, inspiration and random acts of kindness to serve others.  The brainchild of the self-professed ‘Love Divva’ (the two v’s stands for a double dose of love), Jayda Cabbell is a noted author, celebrated chef and well-known philanthropist. Kicking off in Atlanta, this journey will travel to 11 major US cities and end in New Orleans her hometown.

Jayda arrived in Atlanta by way of New Orleans via Hurricane Katrina. She knew immediately that it would be a struggle continuing her company Divva Dishes in a city as large as Atlanta where no one knew her; however, instead of wallowing in self-pity, she decided to help others with bigger problems than her own. With her four children in tow, Jayda began feeding the homeless right outside of her hotel room. That experience quickly grew which in turn helped Jayda get her business off the ground through word of mouth.

Since Hurricane Katrina, Jayda has structured her life and business in the art of helping those in need through her nonprofit, Jayda Cabbell’s Love Foundation (JCLF/BITS), conducting community events to benefit those who need it the most, mentoring the youth, feeding the hungry and homeless.

Mission details include a kick-off in Atlanta as Jayda and her team fill up for the road trip; they will surprise someone at a gas station with a fill-up and a gift basket. Then they will head to Memphis where they will provide manicures and massages for deserving individuals.  They will also visit St. Louis, Denver, Las Vegas, San Diego, Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Antonio, Houston, with the finale in New Orleans.
The mission will be well-documented; capturing every aspect of the trip that Divva and her crew of five will encounter. “This journey will inspire others through the spirit of love and giving. I am embarking on a journey to serve deserving individuals who courageously face adversity daily and all are welcome to join us!” She says, “Prepare to laugh, cry and be inspired.”  There are plans to share details of the mission trip through social media such as YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. In addition to the activities set in stone, random acts of kindness; bonus elements of surprise and inspiration will happen throughout the journey.
“Divva on a Mission” needs your partnership to make this second tour a tremendous success! To join or inquire about partnering with “Divva on a Mission”, please visit www.DivvaonaMission.com or call 855-635-LOVE.

Black Love Forum Feature: Can You Do IT Standing Up? Kenny Pugh Speaks on Making Celibacy Sexy

By: T.MORRISON AGENCY Staff

Black Love Forum recently interviewed our client, Life & Relationship Strategist, Kenny Pugh about the movement he's leading,  'Celibacy Is Sexy', that is becoming quite a sexy new trend for singles desiring to create beautiful and loving relationships that lead to solid marriages and productive, stable families.

Here's a brief excerpt:

Celibacy is one word that makes anyone over the age of 25 and not a virgin scratch their heads about its actual meaning. For some people, that word implies a non-existent sex life because of a non-existent love life but for others, that word means a pledge of purity from sexual pleasures until protected by the bonds of marriage.
Atlanta-based Life & Relationship Strategist, Kenny Pugh, a bestselling author (Can You Do IT Standing Up? A Different Position on Relationships) and a celibate man for over six years has launched a lifestyle campaign, “Celibacy is Sexy” that seems to be resonating among thousands of like-minded single adults who have taken the same pledge – whether privately or publicly and by several indicators, seems to be creating a movement of sorts.
Black Love Forum recently sat down with Pugh to hear more about this campaign and why he thinks it’s turning into a movement.
BLF: How did you come up with the “Celibacy is Sexy” slogan?
KP:  After having such a successful year with the release of my book, “Can You Do IT Standing Up?” which is largely about my personal journey to decide to become celibate and the insightful relationship breakthroughs I discovered, I thought it might be cool to dedicate 30 days sharing the benefits I discovered by leading a celibate lifestyle and send daily thoughts through Facebook and Twitter.
