National Media Takes Notice as Jasmine Guy continues to Speak Out Against Child Sex Trafficking for "I Am Not Yours!"

By: T.MORRISON AGENCY Staff

Actress, Director, Producer, Jasmine Guy has been making a lot of noise as the national spokeswoman for the "I Am Not Yours!" Campaign, a fight against child sex trafficking.

On the heels of a successful campaign launch for "I Am Not Yours!", a campaign committed to taking a stand against child sexual exploitation, Jasmine Guy has been making her case in national media with the likes of NPR, CNN's Suzanne Malveaux, Huffington Post and most recently on HLN's "Raising America" where she discussed the disturbing statistics associated with child sex trafficking, an issue that falls under the Human trafficking/sex slavery offenses.

Ms. Guy spoke on the very illusive and persuasive ways children between the ages of 12 - 17 are victimized by child sex traffickers and why adults have the ultimate responsibility of protecting our children. She also spoke to key ways adults can tell if a child is the victim of a child sex exploiter.

By: T.MORRISON Agency Staff:

Just want to take a moment to thank our media friends for helping to make this project a BIG success for our  agency!

The film What About Us? debuted at BronzeLens film festival in Atlanta on Friday night to raving reviews.  Actress Jasmine Guy, Writer/Director Deatra Harris and 16 year-old songwriter of the song, Lyric Stephens addressed the emotional crowd with thunderous applause.

Jasmine Guy with fan

S. Epatha Merkerson best known for her role as NYPD Lieutenant Anita Van Buren on the drama series Law & Order and the TV One series, Black and Missing gave the film raving reviews while addressing audience about her own film, The Contradictions of Fair Hope and the ladies of Colored My Mind: Diagnosis a film about the lack of awareness, diagnosis and support of black and brown children diagnosed with autism which featured Nicole Ari Parker and Blair Underwood (all great films!) also acknowledged the brilliance of What About Us?

Saturday we headed over to HLN for a segment on Weekend Express with the lovely Natasha Curry.  The love and support the media has given this film is much appreciated.  Jasmine Guy is certainly a class act and Deatra L. Actress Jasmine Guy Stars in Film about Missing & Exploited Children at BronzeLens Film Festival

By: T.MORRISON AGENCY Staff

"What About Us?" a movie directed by Sundance award-winning producer Deatra L. Harris, explores the disparities of media coverage and resources certain families receive when their loved ones go missing.  The film which stars actor-dancer-director, Jasmine Guy will debut Friday, November 9th at the 3rd Annual BronzeLens Film Festival hosted at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis that will feature nearly 50 new films - new features, shorts, and documentary films from filmmakers across the country, the Caribbean, and Africa.

In "What About Us?" Guy portrays a troubled woman whose issues are not immediately apparent until the culmination of events at the end of the film.  The film is emotional, provocative and will certainly resonate with anyone who has been affected by a missing loved one.

Visigoth Pictures partnered with Peas in their Pods, a local non-profit organization that supports families with missing children here in Atlanta.  The film used an Indiegogo campaign to raise funds and awareness for not only the production of the film, but to also help support their community partner.   Visigoth also found a way to further give back to the Atlanta community by having 16-year-old Atlanta based singer/songwriter Lyric Rachae' perform the title track to the film which was produced by Atlanta's own State of Mind Muzic.  In addition, they brought in 20 Dunwoody High School students to intern on set during production.

Media interested in interviews with Ms. Jasmine Guy or producers of the film should contact T.MORRISON AGENCY directly.  Media credentials and coverage for BronzeLens should be directed to Terri Vismale-Morris, Director of Public Relations(404) 346-0410 newideas@bellsouth.net.
