Steve Jobs...Job WELL DONE

When I heard about the passing of Steve Jobs, the innovative creative brilliance behind the APPLE brand, I began to reflect.

I know the natural emotion for most of us is either one of shock, sadness, disbelief and even numbness.

Well....I smiled. I knew Steve Jobs performed a wonderful job while he was with us in physical form. He dedicated his life to living his passion. He changed our lives through technology many of us DEPEND on!  And even more significant like his last name, he also created JOBS, thousands of them, wow!  That isn't ironic, that was Destiny, he was destined. He understood his true calling/purpose in life and that's commendable. It's to be admired, respected and followed. He deserved to get his WINGS, his riches that he's truly racked up on!

You can tell by reading his quotes, there was something inherently understood about the true meaning of life.  We are to be thankful he left us these great quotes and guides to consider and live by...

“Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me … Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful… that’s what matters to me.” – Wikiquote, as quoted in The Wall Street Journal (Summer 1993).
“Almost everything–all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure–these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.” – Steve Jobs’ Stanford Commencement Address

But this is the one that did draw tears from my eyes. I dare not paraphrase or summarize, but simply share and ask you to mediate on it for a while and allow it to sink in...

“Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes… the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules… You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” – Think Different, narrated by Steve Jobs

Mr. Jobs, I salute you and I thank you for being such a fearless inspiration of what it LOOKS like to be a GREAT example of creativity, brilliance and confirming what the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 1:27 "but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, 28 and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, 29 so that no man may boast before God. 30 But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, 31 so that, just as it is written, “LET HIM WHO BOASTS, BOAST IN THE LORD.”

DARE to be different. DARE to soar and live your dreams. YOU only have ONE LIFE and YOU ARE MEANT to change this world and make it better. Know that. Feel it. Paraphrasing from Oprah, it doesn't necessarily mean you need a stage to make a difference, you can start in your home, at your school, in your sphere of influence around you, but make YOUR mark! No else can do it but YOU, YOU were called to leave an impact in the world with YOUR unique gifts and talents.

As Steve Jobs did, let us ALL allow our lights to shine. Make no apologies and YOU TOO shall receive the greatest gift of all, when your time comes to go on to another journey, meet your Creator and hear the most loving words of acceptance, "Job Well Done."
