Living an Inspired & Purposeful Life

Everything in life has purpose.  Yes, it's true...everything in life has purpose. The flowers that bloom in the garden, the caterpillar that humps slowly along, the client from hell and yes, even that self-centered friend that irks your LAST nerve! If you look past it's momentary beauty (or unpleasantness), it's oddity and even the pain and really look with the Eyes of Wisdom, you will see and appreciate the purpose it has for showing up for you.

Since I was in my early 20's, I was always on a quest for "What Am I Here For?" and by golly, I am so thankful to 'seek and ye shall find'.  Every time I think I 'have arrived', I realize there's more than meets the eye AND more to come - how exciting!!

With that, I had such an amazing and inspiring week! I was given the privilege of being invited to the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce as they celebrated the Brazil Fest. It was really amazing, VIPs of the city and from the country of Brazil including the Consulate General of Brazil were in attendance and everything from the 2014 World Cup and its opportunities, the 2016 Olympics and increasing tourism to the beautiful state of Bahia, Brazil where Salavdor is located were items of discussion. (Forget what you heard about Rio de Janiero, there's a new destination in town!)

Bahia, Brazil
As I sat there, I recalled the many years of declaring international opportunities for business and myself and here it had arrived! That was followed by introductions, follow-up meetings and then brunch with one of the VIPs on Sunday (when a mtg is scheduled on a Sunday, that's when you KNOW it's the real deal) to solidify what our agency offers and how we truly are an ally to the marketing plans scheduled for all the great opportunities surrounding this great country. I learned SO MUCH this week from history, culture (my own) to just pure gratitude and understanding that my belief in myself and my purpose is unfolding quite beautifully.

That was followed by a wonderful panel discussion held at Spelman College by Friday Girl TV's "Talk Back Series", The Sex Kitten vs. The Super Brain: A Panel Discussion of African American Women in Media The panel included:

October Rose & Ashia Sims of Friday Girl TV (Girl Genius Productions) did an amazing job putting this together. The panelists did an amazing job of offering great perspective being in media and solutions and ways they are making a difference and provided the young college students ways they can affect some great change just by knowing they too are powerful and purposeful in who they already are! The young ladies were inspired and left motivated knowing they can change anything they don't like or want to make better in the media or in their respective calling.  It was wonderful!

Just being in the Cosby Auditorium, named in honor of Bill Cosby's wife Camille Cosby, was a reminder of the blessed life I am living. Although I didn't have the opportunity to attend Spelman (and I wanted to, really I wanted to attend Clark-Atlanta), I have been blessed to have access to all these wonderfully historic HBCUs since I made the trek to Atlanta almost 5 years ago. I still pinch myself at times to live this wonderful life as it unfolds before my very eyes. I say often, "Who would've thunk it?!"....

As I venture into another week of uncertainties, I know it only holds the best of the greatest possibilities that are limitless and full of purpose. And I know that all that I encounter, people, places, things and sit-che-a-tions (LOL), are purposed for my good!

Enjoy the pics, more will be posted soon and let this inspire you to KNOW your life has tremendous purpose and positive power!

All About The Parties!

I think I got my sexy back, no I'm SURE I've got my sexy back! Let's just say we've been getting it in like we were 25 again, well at least I was and that was NOT the business! Getting home at 5am and taking 5 hours to recover is NOT cute, although it was fun though! :)

We kicked off the mid-week with the fabulous Renee Knorr, model, mentor and fashion and beauty director of the 19th Hole Magazine at the LuXe Lifestyle series at Aurum Lounge. This month's  LuXe Lifestyle honored those in fashion, photography and entertainment.  Among the honorees was Lil G from the R&B Group, Silk, Celebrity Photographer & Film Producer Leo Marshall, HGTV's "Design Wars" star Michael Habachy and Atlanta native Rafael Cox who was cast for Season 9 of Project Runway. Aurum is very beautiful - definitely a night for those who love living the glamorous life and a great spot for tourists and visitors! Next month the LuXe Lifestyle partners Renee Knorr and Andre Hill of AH Entertainment will do it again, so stay tuned!

Here are a few shots for you:

Friday night was the grand opening of radio personality, Frank Ski of the Frank & Wanda Morning Show, new restaurant, Frank Ski's.  The atmosphere was very chic, upscale and lots of people attended.  Ski treated everyone to fish tacos and chicken skewers and an open bar the first two hours of the night. Flossin' eh? Enjoyed it! :)  Check out the review and pictures on Word of Mouth's Tara's blog!

And we kept it going until Sunday with the kick-off of the Falcon's first home game against Michael Vick...I mean the Eagles.  Jersey Girl Sports hosted their football 101 for women, 1st & Flirty. Talk about FUN TIMES!  Brandi & Karli Harvey of Young, Fit & Fly and the dynamic twins of radio personality, bestselling author and media conglomerate, Steve Harvey, co-hosted and let me tell you, comedy runs in the family!  We had tons of fun - the women and men enjoyed themselves and we even had a surprise visit from relationship expert, Dr. Alduan Tartt who's in the October issue of Essence Magazine giving us some relationship wisdom. Oh, it was soooo much fun, he wasn't ready for all the touchdowns the women gave connecting relationships to sports - #FlagonThePlay Dr. :)

Happy! Happy! Joy! JOY

Oh boy, it's been a thrilling ride since I returned from my mini-vacay to the mountains for my birthday. I must do a blog just on the JOYful time I had! Don't worry, that's coming!

Upon driving back to Atlanta in dreary but perfect mountain-getaway weather, I immediately came back to cleaning out the inbox, returning phone calls, attending meetings, pitching, writing press releases, strategy meetings and fashion events! Gotta love my life (smug).

Speaking of the fashion events - the Betsey Johnson fashion show on the 6th was fierce!  Our client, Model and Fashion Beauty Director for the 19th Hole Magazine, Renee Knorr co-hosted the event with the lovely Suchita Vadlamani formerly of Good Day Atlanta.  I want to personally thank the fab Nikka Shea of Oh! Nikka and Alicia Edwards, fashion/style blogger for their write-ups.

On September 8th, client One Hundred Days with Author/Humanitarian Linda Cox debuted Market Rwanda at the pop-up shop in Atlantic Station and boy were they impressive!  I literally walked in with my mouth dropped open in ooooooooo's and ahhhhhhh's. Congratulations to the fabulous team at One Hundred Days, Susan & David S., Kelli & Scott S., Jim C., and former Miss America, Kirsten Haglund. What professionals!!

Market Rwanda made quite a splash at the pop-up event and started making sales even before the party officially started. Gotta be those chunky beads, or maybe it's the colorful bags or the rings or earrings?  I don't know, it's all gorgeous!  Enjoy some of the pics below and read the blog over at OHD for more commentary.

What a week, but it's been so happy and joyful and I'm so thankful to all the people and events I'm connected  to that made it all possible! (((HUGS)))

We're ready for shopping!

Happy HAUTE September!!

Happy September Everyone!

We LOVE Fall and not just because it's just simply beautiful, but because....well, it's Just Simply Beautiful!!!  Autumn has a way of using the changing colors of leaves to get us into reflection as the hibernation of Winter prepares to make it's arrival.

While Summer was definitely HOT here in Atlanta and in our agency - we had record-breaking media accomplishments during Summer, thanks to the fabulous brands we have the opportunity to work alongside.

Jersey Girl Sports, continue to trend as the #1 online website for women who love sports.  Charleston media rolled out the red carpet for Strikes & Stilettos, their baseball 101 for women!  Shouts out to the crew at Z.93 FM - Tessa & Baby J and of course the beautiful Laura Harris for Low Country Live. Atlanta always show us love from Sam Crenshaw at WXIA to CBS Better Mornings and Good Day Atlanta.  Now the ladies are in Miami to kick-off "1st & Flirty" with Black Enterprise for their football 101 and will make a TOUCHDOWN here in Atlanta with the Harvey Twins on September 18th.  BE THERE!

Yours Truly is celebrating my birthday on September 6 and what better way to party than with a fashion show presented by Betsey Johnson at the W. Hotel in Buckhead. Talk about HAUTE!!! Model and Fashion & Beauty Director of THE 19TH HOLE MAGAZINE, Renee Knorr along with former Good Day Atlanta host, the beautiful, Suchita Vadlamani are hosts for this fabulous event.  All I gotta say is "If you're NOT there then you MUST be a Square!!"  LOL!  Tickets are only $10 before the event and pre and after parties are for all to enjoy!

Also One Hundred Days and Author/Humanitarian, Linda Cox continue to trek through Atlanta on an international treasure hunt to Rwanda with MARKET RWANDA! In July, MARKET RWANDA debuted its beautiful handmade collection of jewelry and home decor at Emerging Art Scene Gallery in Castleberry Hill to a media wave and will be launching into September at the HAUTEST fashion event in the city celebrating Fashion's Night Out with Modern Luxury at SHOP ATLANTA. The VIP reception promises to be exactly what we're hoping for! MARKET RWANDA is a beautiful collection of handmade jewelry and home decor from Rwanda courtesy of One Hundred Days whose mission is to help build restoration in Rwanda. The shopping experience will be going on all weekend from September 9 - September 11. Stop by and say "Hi!"

That's just a little of what we've been up to!  There's so much more of this creative energy going on behind the scenes from new looks, movie premieres, reality shows and even writing of a New York Times Bestselling book.  Stay tuned, ya hear?!  We have SO MUCH to keep sharing!

Until next time, Happy HAUTE Labor Day Weekend and reach out to us if you're interested in attending any of these fabulous events!!

CIAO!
