Women You Can Have It All!

I recently came across a great blog written by Little Pink Book that challenged women to consider - YES! You Can Have It All! It got me to thinking about this one quote: “'All' is in the eye of the beholder. No group, movement, gender, or generation can define it for you.” And that is absolutely right! Who are you allowing to define what "having it all means" and how's that working out for you?

Oftentimes in this dog-eat-dog, keeping-up-with-the-Joneses and coveting over what so-in-so has world, we forget the most important commandment of all - Thou shall not covet thou neighbor's house and anything else another has whether it's your neighbor, your sister, brother, best friend, mother, father, cousin, peer, business partner - and so on and so forth.  Not because it's just downright an ugly trait to possess, but it also cancels out your individual greatness and the purpose and plans meant for your own light to shine brightly.

Your having 'IT' all may be different from Oprah's, FLOTUS, Michelle Obama, Kim Kardashian or regular Jane across your cubicle and that is OK!  YOU are OK and YES! You too can have it 'all' - whatever that means to you and that's really all that matters!

As you go into your week to complete the tasks on your 'to do' list and push toward your dreams, find peace and solace that in your life, your all is achievable and then make it so!

What Have We Been Up To Lately?

Well, I'm glad you asked!  Let me just say, it's been an exciting ride!

Black Bride's 2nd Annual Bridal Show was a HUGE success and it was a privilege and honor to be part of such a ground-breaking concept!  Thanks to all the media that came out and showed us pre and post love.  Special Thanks to: E. We've also hired a new PR Associate!  Portia Rice comes to us by way of Vegas but was a former intern that graduated from Clark Atlanta in 2011.  It warmed my heart to get a personal call from Portia asking to come on-board as an associate.  She has been - by far - one of the best intern's we've had and it was an honor to welcome her back on board! As you know, One Hundred Days was nominated and WON The Little Pink Book's TOP Philanthropy for 2012.  Kelli Sasser, co-Founder, represented well for us!!! We are thankful to the over 500 votes received!!! More deets will come shortly!

I also had the pleasure of meeting the infamous Afrobella creative-brain of the phenomenal Patrice Yursik and the ever funny oh-so-beautiful Actor, Comedian & GODDESS, Kim Coles! They were both featured speakers at Fro Fashion Week that took place in Atlanta. Patrice invited me and my client out to the VIP party to meet her and Kim and it was FIYAH!  I'm so happy we finally embraced in person. You.ROCK.Period.com Patrice! The Wendell Show out of Athens on the campus of UGA (University of Georgia) has so graciously hosted many of our clients these two months as guests of their season finale! BlackBride.com's CEO Mary Chatman and Bestselling Author & Relationship Strategist, Kenny Pugh, made appearances last night!  We'll keep you posted as to when these will air!

Kelli Sasser says she felt “compelled by Christ” to help the people of Rwanda rebuild their lives. During the Rwandan genocide in 1994, nearly one million people were killed in one hundred days – nearly 20 percent of the country’s population. The government and military both supported the genocide, and the small African nation was left in shambles.

Fast-forward to 2003, when Rwandan pastor Simon Nziramkenga met Sasser and her husband Scott, a university physician, and explained how access to healthcare was a dire issue. Thus, the nonprofit One Hundred Days was born. While Sasser’s focus is on building a hospital in Kigali, her ongoing mission is to provide healing to the people of Rwanda – physically, emotionally and spiritually.

PINK: Where did you acquire capital to start your organization?

Kelli Sasser: Almost all of our funding comes from friends and family members who have “caught a vision” of how we can offer our core values to people who are in life-threatening need. Our core values include trusted partnerships, sustainable solutions, holistic transformation, passionate service and transforming beauty. Friends fueled by trust and friendship have helped build a community – here and in Rwanda. We have had several multi-thousand dollar gifts, but the majority has accrued in very small donations closer to $100. We have raised more than $300,000. Click here for the full story.

Power to the PINK in SheEO!!
