After writing and sending out the press release announcing the historic Heisman moment for "King of Strings" Entertainer, Ken Ford, we knew this would be something Editor-in-Chief, Stephanie Davis Smith would be interested in.  "And I was right!", shares T.MORRISON AGENCY Principal, Tamika Morrison.  "Anyone who knows anything about Modern Luxury knows they love to feature certifiable 'local' celebrities with a national flair. With Ken's great accomplishment, being the first-ever musician playing for the 77th Annual Heisman Trophy Presentation last November, I knew this was something that would make Atlanta very proud that Ken calls it home."

Long of the short, Davis immediately responded to Tamika's pitch with congratulations and that a writer had been assigned to do a feature story.  "I pinched myself but it was believable," says Tamika.

"When Ken and I arrived at the nondescript warehouse for his souped-up photo shoot a few weeks later complete with at least five changes of clothing, huge lights and changing backgrounds, I knew I had in a client what we desire as an agency- a brand with consistency, marketability and star-power."

A Tale of Two Birds

Recently I saw two cardinals. A male and female and I was awestruck.  Not because I saw the cardinal, although, seeing one should be a gleeful reminder of the miracles in the world around us, but I was awestruck because it was the first time I'd ever seen a pair...together!

I believe God uses the sight of this particular bird to communicate with me.  It began our way of communicating years ago, so when I see one, it's not out of the ordinary, rather, it's quite ordinary for me.  It's my constant reminder of goodness, mercy and favor available to me at any given moment.  But this time...seeing the cardinal "partnered" I wasn't sure what it meant, all I know is that it signified something BIG, something meaning 'double!' It has to!

It was quite significant since I was leaving a meeting that was a pretty big deal with a woman by my side, who by all accounts, is a pretty big deal. So I KNEW it meant something very meaningful.  I was stuck in 'awe' for at least 5 minutes that seemed like 10 or 15 because those birds paraded themselves so gloriously allowing my business acquaintance and I to experience their presence and remark how unusual it was to find them in such an odd place.  We both acknowledged the significance of the moment and claimed it as evidence of BIG things and "Double" victories to come! So in the spirit of "Big" and "Double", I share with you the great accomplishments of our client, Mrs. Linda Cox, an author and humanitarian who's been given her fair share of goodness, mercy and favor - and RIGHTFULLY so!

Linda is the author of the children's book They Had to Run, which tells the real-life story of her Rwandan friends Simon and Kedress Nizramakenga.  Having had to escape the early rumblings as orphans of what became known as the Rwandan Genocide, Simon and Kedress returned to their native land as adults helping to build restoration in Rwanda and their partnership with Linda, her family and friends, they created the nonprofit organization, One Hundred Days, which is dedicated to helping to rebuild Rwanda, namely, through the construction of the first pediatric hospital in that region.

We are grateful to all of the wonderful media partnerships they have garnered the past couple of months and wish to share their accomplishments with you.

Happy September Everyone!

We LOVE Fall and not just because it's just simply beautiful, but because....well, it's Just Simply Beautiful!!!  Autumn has a way of using the changing colors of leaves to get us into reflection as the hibernation of Winter prepares to make it's arrival.

While Summer was definitely HOT here in Atlanta and in our agency - we had record-breaking media accomplishments during Summer, thanks to the fabulous brands we have the opportunity to work alongside.

Jersey Girl Sports, continue to trend as the #1 online website for women who love sports.  Charleston media rolled out the red carpet for Strikes & Stilettos, their baseball 101 for women!  Shouts out to the crew at Z.93 FM - Tessa & Baby J and of course the beautiful Laura Harris for Low Country Live. Atlanta always show us love from Sam Crenshaw at WXIA to CBS Better Mornings and Good Day Atlanta.  Now the ladies are in Miami to kick-off "1st & Flirty" with Black Enterprise for their football 101 and will make a TOUCHDOWN here in Atlanta with the Harvey Twins on September 18th.  BE THERE!

Yours Truly is celebrating my birthday on September 6 and what better way to party than with a fashion show presented by Betsey Johnson at the W. Hotel in Buckhead. Talk about HAUTE!!! Model and Fashion & Beauty Director of THE 19TH HOLE MAGAZINE, Renee Knorr along with former Good Day Atlanta host, the beautiful, Suchita Vadlamani are hosts for this fabulous event.  All I gotta say is "If you're NOT there then you MUST be a Square!!"  LOL!  Tickets are only $10 before the event and pre and after parties are for all to enjoy!

Also One Hundred Days and Author/Humanitarian, Linda Cox continue to trek through Atlanta on an international treasure hunt to Rwanda with MARKET RWANDA! In July, MARKET RWANDA debuted its beautiful handmade collection of jewelry and home decor at Emerging Art Scene Gallery in Castleberry Hill to a media wave and will be launching into September at the HAUTEST fashion event in the city celebrating Fashion's Night Out with Modern Luxury at SHOP ATLANTA. The VIP reception promises to be exactly what we're hoping for! MARKET RWANDA is a beautiful collection of handmade jewelry and home decor from Rwanda courtesy of One Hundred Days whose mission is to help build restoration in Rwanda. The shopping experience will be going on all weekend from September 9 - September 11. Stop by and say "Hi!"

What I know for sure.....Is this....

As long as you TRUST that you were created for a purpose and a reason, that you're needed and God is brilliant, LIFE will be good to you.  The good and the bad, the sunshine and the rain are all part of the plan. Believe it or not the pain IS a NEEDED ingredient for the awesomeness to happen. For-real.

It's been an intense but pure exhilarating week.  I absolutely LOVE zipping across Atlanta from Buckhead to Midtown hideaways and even the circle of I-285 to get from Decatur to Cascade Road.  I absolutely love to switch between being on the set of an editorial shoot with a glossy magazine for clients to training clients on "Blogging 101" in the comfort of my home office while clients make themselves comfortable on the couch or on the floor. Talking cosmetics, beauty and lifestyle in mini-mansions ain't bad either, and I had my moment with that this week too (yeah I'm smug, LOL)

And then there are the many phone calls to and from media, clients, vendors, inquiriers and employees to returning messages that reach from New York to LA. But what makes my day the most is when the clients go for the gold and start talking national with only names that everybody know!

But the best of it all is when the media responds with a RESOUNDING YES and then I know it's a job well done and this week, we got those wins in too!   What I know for sure is that I'm having the time of my life and LIVING each day in its fullness from joy to frustration to surprise to creative innovation - I feel it all! So THANK YOU to my clients for allowing me to join you on your life's journey because you are the main ingredient to why I enjoy life the way that I do!
