The WEDucator breaks down Bridal Beauty at "Beauty & The Bride"

Tia R. Ervin aka The WEDucator
Wedding Expert, Tia R. Ervin also known as "The WEDucator" introduced her signature bridal event, "Beauty & The Bride" for brides-to-be and her bridal party in an intimate soiree at the beautiful Polished Beauty Bar in quaint Vinings on a wet Wednesday night in Atlanta. And although it rained, that couldn't dampen the beautiful evening The WEDucator had in store.

Brides came in not knowing what to expect.  All they knew was that they were invited for a night of bridal beauty that included a series of Twitter Chats where Tia shared some tips, tricks and wisdom for the bride who may be on the verge of pulling her hair out with all the details that goes into planning a wedding.

When the brides walked in, nothing but beauty and soothing music graced them as they browsed the shop - some settled in to get mini mani/pedi's while others quietly introduced themselves to one another, sipped on signature cocktails provided by Qream Liqueur and nibbled best damn cupcakes and cakepops PERIOD, catered by Gimme Some Suga Bakery Bar.  Ummmm Hmmmm Goooooood!

Peach & Strawberry Qream Liqueur

It was very obvious by the brides' response to the The WEDucator, that she truly understood where these brides were- mentally, emotionally and spiritually -- and had advice they all were more than willing to take and some even shared their personal bridal stories. They laughed, they grunted, they agreed and some even cried...yes, CRIED! Dang, she's good!

But in the end, it was all worth it as gifts flowed, giveaways were given and we have our sponsors to thank for that!  Polished Beauty Lounge, Tracey Brown Photography, Qream Liqueur,Floral Couture, Gimme Some Suga Bakery Bar, Perfect Wedding Guide, Milestone Occasions, Kennard Photography, Eden Fantasys, Silpada Sterling Silver Jewelry, Wrapped Couture, and Bijox Wow Jewelry. Special thanks to our media guests, Nikka of Oh Nikka, Alicia of Alicia Style and BlackBride.com.

The WEDucator thanks all for their support.  Brides, don't sleep, this is ONLY the beginning!  You can catch Tia R. Ervin at Perfect Wedding Guide's bridal show in Atlanta on January 15th and she'll have yet another surprise in store!

Electric Violinist Ken Ford Makes History Performing at the 77th Heisman Trophy Awards on ESPN

Atlanta's own Electric Violinist Ken Ford will be performing live this Saturday, December 10th in front of millions for the 77th annual Heisman Trophy Presentation Presented by Nissan at 8 p.m. on ESPN. A first in the network's history to have a live music performance take place during the Heisman presentation.

Electric Violinist Ken Ford will provide soul-stirring arrangements from his newest CD, "State of Mind" during commercial breaks, as well as providing musical transitions during the telecast. The live telecast from the Best Buy Theater in New York will be simulcast on ESPN3 and ESPN Mobile TV and accessible online at WatchESPN.comESPN Radio will also broadcast the announcement of the winner.

Be one of the first to interview this super star who's current CD "State of Mind" isclimbing the charts and was named number three on the Jazz Billboard Chart earlier this year.  Following his album's release, which has included the Atlanta Journal-Constitutionhighlighting Ford's "edgy sound", BET.compraising his "soul-stirring style", and Rolling Out declaring him an "all-around violinist" with "the ability to delve into jazz, funk, classical, soul and hip-hop without missing a beat or a string," Ford shows no signs of slowing down.

In August, Ford treated his hometown of Atlanta to the full live experience of STATE OF MIND, with a sold-out concert at the Buckhead Theatre hosted by V-103's Ryan Cameron, featuring Ford's full band and R&B artist Algebra Blessett opening the show.  The sold-out show was recorded for future broadcast and was attended by a host of luminaries, including Mayor Kasim Reed, Julius "Dr. J" Erving, Q. Parker of 112, Johnta Austin, Atlanta City Council President Ceasar Mitchell, Television Producer Roger Bobb and more.

The Beauty of Forgiveness

On Friday, I had the wonderful opportunity to be invited to see the film "Kinyarwanda" in Atlanta at the AMC theatres at Phipps Plaza.  The film illustrates the horrifying tales of the lives of Rwandans that lived and died during 100 days of extreme hatred, violence and murder now known as the Rwandan Genocide in 1994.

Earlier in the week I was with filmmaker, Detra Harris just to share, discuss and celebrate with each other amongst a delicious homemade pastry dish and African tea at my client, Linda Cox's home.  Side note: the beauty of simple connections is so miraculous and social media can never replace that. I digress...

The story of the people of Rwanda isn't new to me.  I was fortunate to meet Linda Cox, author and humanitarian who's also co-founder of the nonprofit organization, One Hundred Days, whose mission is to help rebuild Rwanda with their first project being the first pediatric hospital for the millions of children that live in Rwanda. The population under age 15 represents 42% of the population, and child mortality rates are worst in all of Africa – one in ten children die before their fifth birthday.

But even with all of that and all of what Rwanda and her citizens have been through, they have managed to find the beauty of forgiveness to transform them, heal them and establish the hope that this country will rise above and be a shining example to all of us of what the word 'forgiveness' APPLIED actually looks like.

I recently had an opportunity to embrace "forgiveness" in its true meaning and never have I felt freer than how I feel now.  It was a 'score' I was finally able to settle with my father, and thank God it didn't have to come by way of tragedy or running out of time.  It emerged through spiritual pain and mental anguish but that was the wake up call I needed.

If you've never understood the impact of "hating" and all it stands for, I encourage you to venture into a theatre to experience it first hand through the movie KINYARWANDA. It gives you a real account of how hatred manifests itself in the most sordid way AND THEN it also gives you the illustration of the healing balm called FORGIVENESS and how you can use it to free yourself and your loved ones to rise again with the hope to make the world you live in better because you are in it.
